RE: How to apply for our college scholarship

Thank you for your interest in our scholarship program, offered in partnership with the New York Credit Union Association. Please review the following instructions carefully before completing your application.

Note: YOU must be a college bound HS Senior and the primary member of a sfcu account in order to apply for this scholarship, through this program. If you do not currently have an account in your name (not your parents name) please contact me by phone at 607 561-7346 or email eglassett@sidneyfcu.org to learn how to open an account.

  • 1. Complete the scholarship application form. Applicants should type or print clearly, and use only the space provided on the form to answer the questions. Other than specified on the application form, no attachments, resumes, pictures or other material of any kind should be used to answer the questions or should be submitted.

  • 2. The signed application must be submitted together with:

    • a. An official high school transcript documenting your GPA for grades 9-11

    • b. An SAT/PSAT/ACT transcript

    • c. A typed, essay response

  • 3. The applicant and his/her parent or guardian must sign the Certification and Release Authorization on the back page of the application form.

  • 4. The completed application, transcripts and essay must be returned to Sidney Federal Credit Union by Friday, January 5th, 2018. If any portion is incomplete or not included, the application will not be considered. Late applications will not be considered.

  • 5. The application verification section is for credit union use only. Please leave this section blank and the sfcu Marketing Department will fill it out, sign and date it.
