What credit score do I need to qualify for a mortgage?

Credit score requirements for a mortgage vary based on the loan program and other factors. Generally, a credit score of 620 or higher is recommended to qualify for a mortgage, while a score of 680 or higher is recommended for first-time homebuyers.
