At Sidney Federal Credit Union, every community we serve has its own story, and this January, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Amsterdam as the next feature in our Celebrating Local campaign.

From long-standing local businesses to neighbors who show up for one another every day, this community embodies what it means to grow together. Through Celebrating Local, we’re highlighting the people, places, and partnerships that make Amsterdam special while continuing our mission to help communities thrive.

What Celebrating Local Means in Amsterdam

Throughout January, our Amsterdam branch will come alive with activities designed to bring the community together, celebrate local impact, and invite everyone to join in the fun. Here’s what to expect:

🎉 Open House Celebration
Join us on Friday, January 23rd from 2–4 PM at our Amsterdam branch for a community open house. We’ll be serving up award-winning wings from Shorty’s, welcoming neighbors old and new, and celebrating everything that makes Amsterdam feel like home. Stop in, say hello, and learn more about how SFCU supports this community every day.

🌱 Flat Sprout Fun
Members of all ages are invited to grab a coloring sheet of our mascot, Sprout, and make it their own. Finished designs will be featured on our in-branch Flat Sprout Wall, showcasing creativity from across the community.

🔍 Where’s Sprout? Scavenger Hunt
Keep an eye out around Amsterdam because Sprout will be hiding at local spots throughout the month! We’ll be sharing weekly clues on social media, inviting you to explore the city and discover familiar places in a new way. Find a Flat Sprout, tell us in the branch, and earn a prize.

🤝 Community & Nonprofit Spotlights
As part of the campaign, we’ll also be highlighting local nonprofits, member businesses, and community partners who are making a difference in Amsterdam, organizations that align with our commitment to growing good together.
