  • The NCUA provides a handy Share Insurance Toolkit at mycreditunion.gov

  • Whether you wish to send a one-time direct deposit, such as your tax refund, or your recurring paycheck – SFCU wants to make it easy.

    Here is all you need to do:

    1. Provide Routing Number, which is 221379905
    2. Provide your Account Number. DO NOT include the suffix. Ex. If your Account Number is 123456 and your checking account suffix is 0700, do not provide 123456-0700. Only provide 123456. Also, do not include any leading zeros.
    3. If the form asks if the funds go to savings or checking, make your selection. If no selection is made AND you have an SFCU checking, the funds will be deposited into the checking account.

    It’s as simple as 1-2-3. If you have any additional questions, select the chat option during virtual branch hours or call to speak with a representative.

  • You will need the following information to complete your online application:

    •  A Valid ID
      • This can be a valid driver’s license, a government issued photo ID, state ID, or military ID.
      • Youth Accounts Only: If minor does not have a valid driver’s license/permit. Color copy of birth certificate and/or social security card. We will also accept a copy of school identification, baptism certificate or medical card in the event both birth certificate and social security card are not available.
      • Save time by scanning the back of your driver’s license to prefill your application!
    • Your Complete Physical Address
      • If your current address does not match your ID, we will need proof of your current physical address.
      • This can be a paystub, utility bill, tax bill, or vehicle registration that includes your name and current physical address on it.
    •  Funding Method
      • Your new account can be funded with a credit card, debit card (Discover, Mastercard or Visa) or be prepared with an account number and routing number.
    • Adding Joint Owners or Beneficiaries?
      • You will need their name, address, date of birth and social security number. If you do not have that information at time of account opening, proceed with the application as an individual account and we can help you get them added later.
      • If adding a joint owner, we will also need a valid ID.
  • Parent/Guardian – Please provide one of the below:

    • US/State Driver’s License/Permit or state ID card
    • Interim ID accompanied by expired photo ID (no more than 60 days past expiration)
    • US Passport or Passport Card
    • US/State/County Sheriff’s ID
    • NY State Benefits Card with photo

    If the address on your ID does not have your current physical address or does not contain an address we must obtain proof.

    • Recent paystub (last 30 days)
    • Recent Utility Bill with service address (last 30 days)
    • Recent cell phone bill (last 30 days)
    • Current vehicle registration or vehicle insurance card
    • Current lease with landlord & renter’s signature
    • Current year property tax receipt/bill or deed

    Minor

    • Color copy of IRS issued Social Security Card
    • Color copy of Birth Certificate

    Additional options if the above are not available:

    • School Identification
    • Baptism Certificate
    • Medical Card

    Funding Method
